First Comments let you add supporting text to a post without crowding the main caption. In this chapter, you’ll learn how First Comments work, where they are most useful, and how to use them more strategically across supported platforms.

Once your main post is doing its job clearly, First Comments give you another way to support it without overloading the main caption itself.

Understanding First Comments in SmarterQueue

First Comments let you publish a comment automatically alongside your post, instead of keeping all of that extra text inside the main caption.

In practice, this gives you a second text space that can support the post without changing the main body of the post itself. That can be useful when the comment adds something valuable, but would make the main caption feel too crowded, too long, or too distracting if it were included there instead.

Current support applies to Instagram Creator/Business Profiles, Facebook Pages, LinkedIn Profiles, and LinkedIn Pages. For Instagram, direct publishing must be enabled for the feature to be available.

A First Comment is not a separate post and not a separate scheduling system. It is part of the same post setup, added in the Post Editor after the main post content is created and publishes along with the post, at the same time. Unlike internal Comments in SmarterQueue, a First Comment is published publicly on the social platform as part of the post. That makes it a publishing feature, not just a writing trick.

How First Comments work

Used well, First Comments give you a second text layer that can support the post more clearly without competing with the main message.

Behavior, Rules, and Connections

First Comments are not a separate publishing system. They are a post-level feature inside the Post Editor, shaped by platform support, customization choices, and the role the comment is meant to play alongside the main post.
