Draft contains posts that have been saved but are not yet part of active publishing. In this chapter, you’ll learn how Draft works as a staging area for unfinished, reviewed, or imported content before it moves into the live Queue.

When content exists in SmarterQueue but is not yet ready to move toward publication, Draft is where it waits.
Draft contains posts that have been saved, but are not yet part of active publishing.
These posts exist inside SmarterQueue, but they are not currently moving toward publication. They have not been added into the live Queue flow yet, so they will not publish until you open them, finish any needed changes, and switch them into an active publishing state. This makes Draft a working area for content that is being prepared, reviewed, or held back on purpose.
Used well, Draft gives you a clear place to keep work in progress separate from content that is already ready to publish.
Draft is not part of active publishing. It is a preparation space where saved content can be reviewed, improved, or held back until it is ready to enter the live Queue.
The more clearly you understand how Draft works, the easier it becomes to use it as a deliberate staging area instead of letting unfinished content drift into active publishing too early.
