Pause Settings let you stop the right parts of your publishing system without taking everything apart. In this chapter, you’ll learn how pausing works, what it affects, and how to use it more deliberately.

Once your publishing system is running, you may need to stop part of it without rebuilding the entire setup.
Pause Settings are the controls SmarterQueue gives you to temporarily stop parts of your publishing system without deleting your setup or removing content from the Queue.
They let you pause two different kinds of automation:
Pause Settings can also be used more selectively. Instead of stopping everything, you can pause specific Categories, specific Social Profiles, or specific Category-and-Profile combinations while leaving the rest of your setup active.
This makes Pause Settings more than a simple on/off switch. They are a control layer that lets you stop automation at the level that makes sense for the situation, whether that means taking a full publishing break or only pausing one part of the system.
Used well, Pause Settings give you a cleaner way to interrupt automation without dismantling the structure you’ve already built.
Pause Settings do more than stop publishing. They let you control which parts of your publishing and importing system keep running, which parts stop, and how that pause affects the rest of your workflow.
